a quick update
Things here are going crazy per usual. The car is broken once again. Once again we are going to fix it. We have had a very busy fall. Things are going so fast. I am hoping to get up halloween pics in the next couple of days Jesse was a Ninja and I was a Pirate. We had fun went trick-or-treating at the mall. Went around to a few houses. Hope everyone else had a happy and safe halloween.

Our Unfortunate return to Minnesota...
So sad to be back home... i didn't even remotely realize how very much i missed colorado until we went back. We had a great time got to see a lot of people and have a lot of fun. We flew in on saturday and made a b line for el noa noa and had lunch which was per usual fantastic. Then we headed to DAM where we wandered around the museum for a few hours Jesse lost intrest rather quickly but did well in general. We took that evening pretty easy as we had been awake for way to long to be healthy any longer. We stayed as Richard's friend Thresa who was a wonderful and gracious host throughout most of trip we stayed at her house. Sunday morning we woke up early and headed to the springs. We spent that day with Evan and his family. We had a great visit that i wish had been days longer. The kids got along so well and had a great time playing together within a matter of moments Jesse and Riley were thick as thieves. We had lunch together at old chicago and then headed to Mr.Biggs where the kids got to run around and be crazy. The dads did to while Kalisha and I had a chance to sit and relax for the most part. I think Evan and Richard had more fun at the pirate ball room than the kids did. We then drove over and met Kalisha's parents who were very nice we have a short visit that i wish had lasted longer but jesse fell asleep about 5 minutes into their front door... We stayed in colorado springs that night and the next morning headed back over to Even and Kalishas. We then wandered around garden on the gods and took the kids to Manitou Springs where we got to take lots of pictures and play on the old fashion arcade ride with the kids. We said our good byes in manitou and headed up to boulder. It was time for some microbrew and more old friends. We headed to Mountain Sun where we met up with Mati and Padme had a great dinner wander aimlessly around pearl street just for old time and headed to their house. Had a great little visit and got to take home some of Matis homebrew. The Fat Tire clone was my favorite. The next day we spent wandering around denver heading to old haunts like the city park, the tattered cover, twist and shout records, burbon chicken for lunch and then our last supper at of course el noa noa. We left totally wanting to never leave and can't wait to head back this time we will make sure it happens a little sooner....

Music picks for the week...
So i have know decided that i am going to do a music post each week with a few artists that i have either discovered through my boundless and endless search for great music or someone who has put something out that i think all should see...
A Fine Frenzy
So in love with her voice and piano... one of the best new artists i have listened to in a long time... A Fine Frenzy fronted by Alison Sudol is amazing....
Rodrigo y Gabrilla
I don't care who you are or what music you listen to the way these two play guitar is amazing... Their covers of Wish You Were Here and Stair Way to Heaven are mind shattering... here is one of their songs from when they were on letterman
Buddy Wakefield
How amazing can one man be his spoken word is so amazing i could listen to him for hours....
so theres my first attempt at making a weekly blog thing happen... heres to making it happen a second time...

I finally conquired socks...
So I have yet to post some crafty stuff so here's one chocked full of what I have been up to in that arena...
I finally tackled my first pair of socks and they came out beautifully thanks to a little help from my mom and knitty.com... I made them for Richard for his birthday and he loves them can't wait till it get cold enough to use them.... They are Hunter's Socks pattern from http://www.freshislefibers.com/Patterns/hunterssocks.pdf from fresh isle fibers. I used lambs pride worsted weight in raspberry. I think they turned out great and i have completely solidified my love for lambs pride wool....

craftiness...
I finished the first attempt at calorimetry from knitty. It was a bust turned out way to big despite do a gauge swatch... so i am going to frog it and start it over. However, i did finish the second one which is a gift to my sick self to keep my ears out of the wind untill i am better... It worked out great and i also finally found my buttons so i was able to complete it. I finally got around to taking pics of all the wonderful items, however i don't have enough time to post them before i go to work... so if we're all lucky it will get posted tomorrow.... tata

Pictures from our trip to the family reunion...
My boys right as we arrived in Racine we stopped at our favorite spot and took a rest before we went to meet up with all the family... i love my boys...
This is the church we attended on sunday with several other members of Richard's family it was established in the late 1800's and some of richards ancestors were founding members.... It is a very beautiful church and there was a very wonderful service.
The oogie boogie playing on the tire swing that hung from an old walnut tree in the front yard of the family homestead.
being goofy at the the hotel...
On our way home from the family reunion we stopped at the brookfield zoo in Chicago, we got ther pretty late and didn't have to much time be did have fun and got to see lots of animals... Jesse's favorite was the baby giraffe that is under a year old...
Oogie and mommy have some fun at the zoo....

Oogie picking out our next destination on the map he was the "line leader" of the trip....

loved these two monkeys just chilling on the cliffs across from each other....

After the zoo Richard indulged me and my love for sushi and took us out to a very nice sushi resurant in Chicago, it was great and Jesse even ate some sashimi .halibut, he didn't like the wasabi very much though.....
Our last day of the trip out to lunch with Richards mom brother and sister at a wonderful resturant called the yellow rose in racine. This is the first set of pics from the last few weeks were we have been out and about exploring the world. We also went camping and have pics from the county fair where jesse and i entered several things those will come in the next few days... enjoy
love the covells

an interesting thought...
"My mother always told meif your enemy knows you and you know him really well and the better you know each other the harder it is to maintain a fight." ~ Dal LaMagna
In stating this he was talking about his trip to iraq to meet with various Iraqi goverment officials to discuse the posibility of a cease fire. He talks of how if we get to know these people more and understand them and give them an oportunity to get to know eachother better and maybe find a way to resolve so much more of this. The focus is that both sides do agree that al qaeda is this biggest problem. I find it so amazing the things that this man is doing and i feel that he is an amazing person who is so admirable.... I could only hope that i would be able to follow through so passionatly about my beliefs. Needed to put that out there....

A...... Day in the skies
Hoping to use this as somewhere to keep track of projects when i start them ones i would like to try out etc. Mostly knitting, a little crocheting for color, beads for alittle spice, and everything else thrown in will make it quite nice i am sure of....
At the moment i am knitting a round black with an alteration on the patter that i will see if it works if it does the voila we have a knitted star blanket... just for me. In mystery yarn that is black with silver twisted in. I got 7skeins of it at a garage sale a few years back for acouple of bucks which as always a total bonus some fingerling weight acrylic is my best guess.... but it is soft and very light i am working on size 10s right now.... well tra la tra la i am off to play around blog spot now that i have joined the real world of blogging....
